I think Sully624 was just making a joke at Marian Hossa's expense. It would be ridiculous if the Hawks lost and Hossa was on the losing end of the Stanley Cup final for three different teams in three straight years. That would have to be a first in NHL history.

What makes it funny is he left the Pens for the Wings (turned down a long term deal for a short one) with the explanation that he wanted to win the Cup... And was beaten by his former team ouch.

It definitely sucks for him but I'm enjoying him as a Flyers analyst on CSN.

The Flyers have a better defensive core, and better overall team defense, than the Predators, the Canucks and the Sharks. They have guys who can handle a player like Byfuglien in the crease, and they have the smarts to clog up neutral zones and eliminate the space that the fast forwards like Kane and Toews thrive on. They did it all series long against the Canadiens.

Offensively, they both have top playoff scorers in their lineups. Toews and Kane are playing great, so is Mike Richards, and Carter looks like hes ready to come on big time. Briere, Gagne, Giroux, Leino, all of these guys have had a great spring so far. I don't think Chicago's depth is that much greater than Philadelphia's. They're a bigger team forward wise, but as I've already said, the Flyers have the personnel to handle them. They dealt with size in the Boston series just fine.

Who even knows with the goaltending. Both Leighton and Niemi are totally new to this kind of success, who knows how they'll do. Leighton has better numbers but obviously hasn't played as many games. But he was unreal in the Canadiens series, and theres no reason to believe he won't do more of the same. Niemi has been great all spring as well. Who knows.

Its going to be a good one, thats for sure. Go Flyers.

While I agree that Philadelphia is more accountable defensively as a team (their forwards are more defensive minded than most of the Hawks' forwards), I think Chicago has a stonger blueline than the Flyers. Special teams and goaltending will both be critical in determining the outcome of this series.

Almost happened to Ty Conklin. Made it with the Oilers, then the Pens and Wings.
