^I thought it was ok but not great. Having that motorcycle there so Kirk could do kewl stunt riding was completely retarded, as is these reboot movies constantly inserting 1990's music, as is running with pretty much the same plot formula in every one so far, of the wronged-and-revengeful-guy-comin'-to-get-ya, but I do like the dialogue writing and character development for the soap opera between the original, principal characters. If it was a tv show episode, it would have been great, and that may be the problem, format, as none of the movies ever lived up to the tv show[s] they came from. As a global media phenomenon, the Star Trek universe competes with the light-on-the-sci-sci/fi, lowerbrow Star Wars universe and gets dumbed down a bit in the process. They need to come up with a really good sci/fi idea/premise before they even write the script for the next one or I can't see a real future for the franchise beyond stunts and smirks.
