Obviously I now know it's not a big deal, but your kid has probably got it in his/her head that drugs are bad, so don't let them catch you because then they'll look at you differently.

This. When I found out that my dad smoked pot I was really scared and confused. I had only learned that "drugs are bad" and "people who do drugs are bad" so him smoking pot was no different to me then him shooting heroin or doing coke. I thought my dad was some awful criminal until I confronted him about it. He sat me down and we talked, I'm not sure how old I was but it made sense to me afterwards.

but the fact that it's illegal can get you into trouble.

if you have a child, the repercussions from this can be bad.
