Hey all.

I've got an ampeg svt 4 pro playing through an ampeg 410 HLF just wondering what eq settings and other settings i can use to get a real big fat punk rock sound.. for example fat mikes in the war on errorism (not to mention every other nofx albumn)

My favorite bass sound we ever got for my old bassist was a trick we stole from American Nightmare...flatten the EQ. All of the settings were even (right at around 5), and it sounded really good. Of course, that probably depends on the amp.

fresh strings will give you way more tone. when your strings loose the tone you can boil them in a pot and it brings them back--try it. its sounds weird but works.

You could also just buy new strings.
