Wow, james voice got really bad, kirks playing got sloppy as shit and pretty much down write crappy, and james lyrics sound like a jr. high kids idea of cool metal lyrics. It's a shame. Perhaps...and I'm just wondering. Maybe in the movie beerfest when they had that hilarious scene where he had to get drunk to remember where to go to get to beerfest...maybe that can be true in the case of metallica. Maybe they can only remember how to play like they used to when they're drunk. ha "death is not the aend!" wow. I'm still a die hard fan of what used to be.

Both of these songs are better than anything on St. Anger; however this is not a compliment.

The first song is a lot better than the 2nd one. The first song actually has traces of their old sound in it. The 2nd song is utter crap.

James' vocals are god-awful, and it makes both songs hard to listen to.

Lars looks like he's trying very hard and actually almost stays on beat....almost.

Kirk plays solos again...wow...very sloppily, though. Let his performance be a warning to all you guitar players out there: don't stop practicing.

Rob sounded okay. These songs are very basic, not very complicated.

IMHO: If they want to get better they should practice "Frayed Ends of Sanity" over and over and over again until they get it right.

HOLY SHIT, this is fucking horrendous! You hear the beat lag in the first chorus of the first song? I don't understand how you can play for as many years and as often as these guys and suck this bad. At least the solos are back. Haven't made it to the second song yet, but if the first is the better of the two... man. They need to knock it off with the drop-d nu-metal shit already.

even if they wrote shit 8 times as good as this there'd still be a million better bands to listen to that their good material influenced.
