These threads basically turn into pissing contests between you and Redbear (and some others).

But they're still fucking awesome.
I'm waiting to actually get a gigging band going before buying a proper rig, but when I do, I'll definately be posting pics.

ill call the guy up after somehow scoring 150 bucks and saying "hey i'm still looking to make that deal on the sunn" and then procede to rob the man of his cabinet and then go home, arrange it like the faggot that i act like and take a stupid picture. then ill make another thread because it's deleted and use my time to call evil genius telethon a faggot

My amp is a half hour away right now. Not like many of you guys would be impressed with my rig anyway.

My pedalboard is worth $1300 or so, though. I need to stop spending money.

My shit looks weak compared to that massive Sunn rig. It's surprising how loud my little 2x12 can get, though.

i just hate the company that comes along to try and take away the thunder of good cab companies. like being the people that come along and say oh here's cheap shit and just take away the "art" if you will of a good cabinet.

Nobody is taking away "the art of a good cabinet" by buying cheaper gear. Not that Sunn is that expensive compared to some others, but the musician makes the cabinet what it is. For me I don't see the sense on spending thousands of dollars on a few pieces of wood slapped together for the single purpose of holding speakers. Buy a cheap cabinet(if not make one yourself) and put good speakers in it and you'll sound just as good without spending tons of cash to make it say "Marshall" or "Krank" across the front. You can purchase the same speakers the big names use for about 1/3 of the cost of actually buying the cab. I have an old Sunn 2 15 that I bought for $30 because it didn't have any speakers. I purchased 2 15's from Mesa Boogie, installed them and now I have a Mesa 2 15 for roughly $500 instead of dropping $1,500. Mesa might be a bit overrated but I enjoy the sound of there bass gear. Just my personal choice.

The construction of a cab has A LOT to do with the sound. You could pull off slapping some wood together for an open-back, but there are certain specifications you MUST adhere to for the proper performance of speakers in a closed-back cab.

world to turd:

you're playing a Sunn cabinet. Using what are more than likely Celestion 75 speakers.
