No way Reid and Heckert are giving away a valuable 2nd round pick for a 32 year old tight end.

2nd round pick for someone who has stated he has maybe one or two years left is a questionable trade. Glad the Eagles did not make this trade although he would have looked good for a third rounder

The Birds aren't that bad come on
Besides, Reid has drafted several very solid players who have produced or made some kind of positive impact on the field..
McNabb, Westbrook, Buckhalter (to a point), Sheldon Brown, Sheppard, Michael Lewis (early in his career), Shawn Andrews, Mike Patterson, Trent Cole, Broderick Bunkley, Omar Gaither, Avant, Gocong, Celek, Desean Jackson, Stewart Bradley...
It's not like they're horrible.. who else has had better success with more drafted players in the last decade?
Compare the Birds to the Patriots in the same time frame..
Tom Brady, Matt Light, Richard Seymour, Deion Branch, David Givens, Eugene Wilson, Asanta Samuel, Vince Wilfork, Matt Cassel, Laurence Maroney, Brandon Meriweather....
I mean come on, they have about as much a success rate at hitting a decent player as any other team does.

I don't see how thats relevant but since 1999 the Eagles 2nd rounders are..
Barry Gardner
Todd Pinkston
Quinton Caver
Michael Lewis
LJ Smith
Reggie Brown
Winston Justice
Kevin Kolb
Victor Abiamiri
Trevor Laws
Desean Jackson
They obviously don't go after any specific type of player in the 2nd round, so to base the value of a future 2nd round pick on the past... well that's just misguided and illogical. If Reggie Brown and Kevin Kolb were drafted in the 3rd round, you'd have the same argument. Besides, Kevin Kolb hasn't even been put in a position to be successful yet, so to use him in this argument is just asinine.
