They didn't drop the ball. They were never voted on/turned down or whatever CBS reported. Same goes for the ACC. I don't want them in the SEC honestly. I'd really love for them to join the ACC so we can get our awesome rivalry with Virginia Tech back, and preserve our 100+ year rivalry with Pitt and also get back rivalries with Boston College and Miami. Basically, depending on how the divisions would be split, every WVU game could be a rivalry which would be amazing as a fan. Now, though, it looks like WVU and Louisville will be headed to the Big 12 soon. The Big East is talking about adding service academies, which is a fucking awful idea in my opinion. If WVU gets left behind in the Big East, I honestly might just kill myself because We'll probably lose Dana Holgorsen nd become mediocre. If we join the Big 12 though, we'll be able to afford to pay him as much if not more than any school in the country, plus we'll be able to expand and update Mountaineer Stadium. We're easily the best, most consistent program in the Big East, and you get the entire state as a TV market, not to mention our 1,000,000+ living alumni and huge markets in western PA, eastern Ohio, DC, Maryland and North Carolina. Our basketball program is topps too.
Temple beat the fuck out of Maryland today, which is bitter sweet because the final score against WVU was close (even though they scored 21 of those points in like 6 minutes in the 4th quarter). I expected great things from Maryland after the Miami win. Shit, they could still go out and win the ACC. Based on how much Temple has dominated everyone so far, and how they only lost by 4 to Penn State (who only lost by 13 to ALABAMA), it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they win the MAC with only one loss this year.
