So many people try to get me on board with this show, but that pilot REALLY put me off. I might give it a second chance now that it's on Netflix.

Yeah, it took me three tries over the course of a month to get past the pilot episode.

Where are you on Doctor Who right now? I'm in the middle of the third season, paused in the middle of the episode Blink, which to my understanding, is one of the best episodes of the series.

i'm half way through season 4 and i miss rose.

and yeah, the weeping angels episode is classic.
i really haven't come across an episode yet where i've been like "this is just bad" either.

I always wanted to watch Dr. Who but never found a way to watch the entire original series without dropping hundreds of dollars on dvds. I hear the new series is really good but I would rather check out the original first.

I've never seen a single episode of the original series, but love the new one.

I don't think I plan on watching the original either. Way too much other shit that appeals to me more.

I'm into it so far. I'm only slightly embarrassed to admit that I just cried at Simon's speech about River. Fuck.

dr. who was/is the brits' star trek. and just like with star trek series, some dr.'s have been better than others. the ones from the 80's are probably the weakest, but the original black and white ones from the 1960's with hartnell are great, as were the four that followed, with the best being the late 1970's tom baker one in my opinion. the new one is good, tennent, eccleston, but they've really turned jumping the shark into an artform in the most recent incarnation with matt smith.
