Henry Hill -- the real-life mobster that the movie, "Goodfellas," was based off of -- is dead at the age 69. He passed away Tuesday at a Los Angeles hospital from an undisclosed illness.

Hill's girlfriend, Lisa, confirmed that he died at an LA hospital after battling a long illness. She simply told TMZ that "his heart gave out."

The actor who played Henry Hill in "Goodfellas" was Ray Liotta. The Martin Scorcese film became a classic after 1990.

Extra TV reports that Nicholas Pileggi used Hill's life with the Lucchese crime family as his basis for the 1986 true crime book, "Wiseguy." Hill was also an informant for the FBI in his later years.

Over the years Hill tried changing his ways after his life in the mob was exploited. He even tried repairing damaged relationships with estranged members of his family, which his girlfriend claims was improving in recent years. The former mobster made frequent guest appearances on the Howard Stern show.

They finally got em

He lived a good life because he was a scumbag. While ratting didn't take back the carnage that he caused, it definitely was the right decision (even if it was just to save himself).
