Coming from a dork in a band, I just name the bands who influenced me to write the songs. I usually just say we sound like a shitty Downset rip-off.

I really have no clue who to say we are FFO. lol

FFO: People who need to know what a band sounds like before listening to them.

FFO: Inaccurate descriptions.

Wasn't there a band from Baltimore than put one of these FFO stickers on their cd and it listed their name? Slumlords I think. I always got a kick out of that.

I always just put our influences down for our "similar bands". While we don't sound like any of them, you can clearly hear the parts. But I hardly will reference other bands anymore now that we've been out for over a year.

Toxicbreed gave us the best FFO ever though for our new EP. I believe it said "For fans of riffs, getting punched in the dick by riffs, and more riffs". I'll just use that from now on.

I don't think mentioning it is a bad thing, especially for a new band. Because in a real life conversation you always get "well who do you guys sound like?" anyway. So if you presskit yourself with that answer, it will help you get listens. I mean I don't even bother listening to shit that says "FFO: Acacia Strain, Emmure, Poopy McPoopshit" because if that's even your influences, I'll pass. But if it says "FFO: Testament, Anthrax, and Slayer". I'll atleast give it a first track listen to see if they got that right.
