A small plane is flying around the perimeter of the Penn State University campus in State College displaying a banner: "Take the statue down or we will," according to a PSU employee.
The message apparently refers to the Joe Paterno statue outside Beaver Stadium. Paterno was among four top PSU officials targeted in the Freeh report as allegedly trying to cover up Jerry Sandusky's crimes.
Diane Farley, who works in the Ford Building at Park and Allen streets, said she first noticed the plane about 10:45 a.m. She notified the police department, who told her they were aware of it.
Penn State police say they are investigating it.
The message is printed in black block letters, Farley said.
"I'm a Penn State employee that thinks we have failed miserably, and I'm sad for the damage that has been done, but this is just upsetting," said Farley, a PSU alumnus who works as a research technologist for a health care project. "It's just stirring up everything."
On Monday, Penn State said no decision had been made of the future of the Joe Paterno statue outside Beaver stadium. Many have called for the statue to be removed following a scathing special investigator report that found Paterno helped cover up child sex abuse allegations against his former assistant coach Sandusky.
Sandusky was convicted last month of 45 sexual abuse charges.

This is pathetic. Read the report. There is no evidence to determine joe had a hand in covering this up. You're a disgrace to all that truly are Penn State. Joe Paterno included.
Um...did this bitch read the same report I did (or Paterno's family that said they're going to do their own investigation now and that the report is totally false)?

I would assume that the statue will be taken down, he will be painted out of the mural, the library will get a name change, they will stop making his ice cream at the creamery, etc. I don't understand why some Penn Staters can't accept/understand this.I personally don't like people attacking PSU alumni as a whole, though. 42,000 students graduate per year from there...obviously it's not the majority of us that are acting like the people depicted above.
