Airplane Noise - Getting Down (EP)

Since I've been reviewing albums, i've come across a lot of indie bands, most of which were really good. Unfortunately for me, New Jersey's own Airplane Noise has ruined that good streak with their Getting Down EP.

Getting Down is full of whiny vocals, shitty synthesizers, and a bunch of guys who sound like they don't really know how to play their instruments well, or to fit their genre of music.

This all becomes very painfully obvious as soon as the first track kicks in. From that point on, it's all downhill. Somewhere in the second track, we're introduced to a female vocalist, who also cannot sing. I thought there might've been some slight redemption on the third track when they started with a nice melodic piano playing. This "redemption" was killed when it sounds like they gave a 3 year old a harmonica and the kid just blew into it without any rhyme or reason.

As if the music wasn't bad enough, the production quality is bottom of the barrel. It honestly sounds like this band recorded the EP on a stereo in one of the dudes basements.

I can only hope that the next pending review I have will be better than this, but with everything being so bad, that should be a pretty easy task.
