This is one of the more interesting albums I've heard in recent times. I had never heard of this Croatian crusty grind band. I checked out some information on them and found this on their bandcamp site: Fuck your corpsepaint. Fuck your Vans shoes. "Fuck your photo in the woods. Fuck your trucker hat. Fuck your Black Flag vintage shirt. Fuck your bulletbelt. Fuck the band on your back-patch. Fuck your record collection and fuck your scene. March into perdition." Love it, but it was mighty big words to live up to. Did March into Perdition succeed? Yes and No.
The band reminds me of the Locust at time mixed with 90s crusty grind/hardcore. All of that is mixed with punk, thrash, noise, and post hardcore. At times the genres mix together VERY WELL, others not to much. To put it simply, this release was exhausting to get through. That's unfortunate considering how strong it starts off.
As the 11 songs trudged on, I admittedly found myself wondering when the album would be over. It's only a little over a half hour, but it often feels a lot longer. However, each time I was getting close to giving up they would play some very interesting parts. They have some great innovation on the album, but the execution isn't fully realized. March Into Perdition has 33 minutes that would have been better condensed into an EP. This is the type of album that one person could listen to and not find it to be amazing and the next could hear it and tell person number one they're fucking stupid and Gods of Chaos have written a masterpiece.
