Stick To Your Guns - Comes From The Heart

Stick To Your Guns confuses me. They apparently take influences from many different types of bands and try to incorporate every single one of them into this CD. I hear All That Remains, Throwdown,(not "Raise Your Fist" Throwdown, "Vendetta" Throwdown) and Funeral For A Friend among others. And I guess being that diverse of a band could pay dividends in the end, but right now I think they're in the middle of an identity crisis. They should figure out what kind of band they're going to be before putting out another record. Because I just don't understand this release at all.

The first time i put it into my CD player, i couldn't make it past the 4th song without putting something else on. It has grown on me considerably since that first faithful day. But that doesn't mean I am quite ready to vouch for this band yet. Writing this review has been one of the hardest things i have ever had to write because there are so many different facets to this record. I cant focus on just one thing. There are so many things going on at any one time. And unfortunately, I am not about to sit here and write a 10 page paper on each.

This record does not jump right out at me, but it wont be collecting dust either. I think that the fact that i have to listen to something numerous times to offer up a fair review has really helped the way i look at this band. Its not a terrible record, and a lot of it is real catchy. I guess if you like fake metal with chugga chugga breakdowns and clean vocals and screaming and double bass and harmonic guitars and posi lyrics and emo feeling songs all thrown into one, then this is the record for you.

I just don't get it. Maybe I'll edit this after listening to it a few more times.

I didn't mind their first release. This one is atrocious.
