I would like to start out this review by saying I used to enjoy this band, although the first cd did have a slight monotone sound to it. What saved me from writing them off then was the intricate and technical guitar riffs and the mind numbing pace of the drummer.

With that being said, the monotonous sound has been multiplied greatly and almost everything that did save them on the first cd has been thrown out the window. The guitars keep the same "chugga chugga" sound throughout the whole cd and the drums sound like a broken record that just keep repeating the same tempo throughout every song without changing pace. There are however, few spots on certain tracks for reprieve. These spots can be found on Bloodsmear and Lightning over Atlantis. The Venus Orbit threw me for a loop, and seems like it would be fit for background music for a middle eastern scene in a movie, and thats about it.

The only real mentionable parts about this cd is that the vocalist has somewhat stepped up his game where the rest of the band just bores me. It may be good for some, but for me it just fell flat on most expectations
