Rotting Out - Street Prowl

This record is easily one of my favorites of 2011. Rotting Out’s debut 7” (“Vandalized”) on 6131 was good, “Street Prowl” is better. Between releases Rotting Out changed vocalists, and it did not hurt them at all.

From the second the music kicks off in “Street Prowl” (there’s an almost 40 second intro), this record is twenty four minutes of face paced, catchy hardcore. The influences of bands like Pennywise and EARLY Suicidal Tendencies can be found throughout the record. Musically, everything blends and works amazingly. Breakdowns are used frequently and effectively. The riffs have a bouncy feel, that really make it fun to listen to. Vocally and lyrically is where this record really shines, in my opinion. New vocalist, Walter Delgado, meshes great with the music. The songs are well written with choruses that are difficult not to sing along with immediately.

If you haven’t heard this yet, you should. Rotting Out will be playing the Black ‘n Blue Bowl this year in NYC , and I’m stoked to see them.
