Snakes hail from Grand Rapids, Michigan and offer up some crusty hardcore in the vein of Nails, Entombed, and other HM-2 heavy hardcore. I came across this band on my Google Reader and was struck by the artwork. While giving the album for a spin, I was struck by how much the vocals remind me of Dead To Fall. Not really sure why that band really came into my head, but it does.
There's nothing really innovative about "Please Just Kill Me Now" but that's not necessarily what listeners of the genre are really looking for. (Leave that to Converge) The production is raw and accommodating to the in your face crust assault. I don't really know much else about this band but if its any consolation, it hooked me enought to take the time to review this joint. "Please Just Kill Me Now" is available as a free download on the band's bandcamp page.
