Fastway is a British Rock band. Ex-guitarist for Motorhead Fast Eddie Clarke started this band back in 1983. With Toby Jepson newly on vocals this is the first new record since 1990.
With ex-Motorhead guitarist on board one would have very high expectations for this album. Unfortunately this album does not hold up to the quality I expected and was very disappointed. The cover art suggests a modern radio-rock type band but has a more classic rock feel to it. The vocals sort of remind me of Led Zeppelin. The music not so much.
The music sounds very generic and uninspired. The riffs are nothing special and the band sounds like a dozen other bands forgotten from the 70's. I honestly had an extremely difficult time finishing this album and glad I was able to share in the misery with a coworker. I envision a bunch of old guys playing live while bobbing their heads and a crowd of drunks watching with disinterest.
Overall the album was just terrible. Everything about it screamed classic rock version Nikelback. The only saving grace was the pretty nifty wolf cover. I wouldn't advice anybody to listen to this album and would have wished for my time back if I hadn't been at work doing this review.
