London, Ontario's Single Mothers self titled debut offering is released on Touche Amore frontman Jeremy Bolm's label Secret Voices. The punk band is raw as hell and has plenty of rock and roll swagger. The 4 tracks are something that could/should be playing in the background while getting wasted with your friends. The sound isn't so easy to pin down, as there is a definite melodic hardcore influence found throughout the EP.

Vocalist Andrew Thomson howls about random shit ranging from drinking to girls to drinking, and who doesn't like those two things? The production compliments the raw mentality of the band, steering away from the overproduced sound of many of their peers. Don't go thinking this is some Touche Amore duplicate, as this band lends itself to more chaotic punk/hardcore like early Every Time I Die (minus the breakdowns).

So if you're looking for some good party tunes, look no further then Single Mothers. "we're not a band, motherfucker we're a gang so let's hang!"
