Whoa. A blitzkrieg of Grindcore. I have never heard of either of these bands before this release.
Dephosphorous' are the first band up. Their 3 songs are musically similar to Psudoku or even the former Parliamentarisk Sodomi. They call themselves astrogrind and I get it because they do have a unique take on Grind like the aforementioned band(s). Chunky riffs sometimes at hyper speed, other times not, either way they are always equally effective.
Wake's 3 songs are more traditional for Grind I guess you could say. A more full on assault to your face. Straight blasting and snarling vocals meant to make you run the other way followed up by some crushing grooves. Very nice. Similar to Nasum or Keitzer, you know that European Grind sound.
A surprising split. Short and to the point, the way Grindcore should be. I love Grind but this surpassed my expectations. Two different styles of Grindcore coming together amazingly. I'm going to be checking both of these bands out and I suggest you do the same.
