Spirit Bird is Australian singer-songwriter multi-instrumentalist Xavier Rudd's seventh album. I have no prior experience to listening to this type of music, so excuse my lack of knowledge.
Throughout the album, we see Rudd's obvious talent over many different instruments and styles. From the harmonica to the guitar to the didgeridoo, he's got it all covered. Stylistically, he shifts from acoustic to reggae to folk without any trouble at all. He's also an activist so you have lyrics that expose the flaws in government, which thanks to some research is actually him expressing the unfortunate situation of Aboriginies.
Although this is definitely stepping outside my comfort zone for a review and pretty bizzare for my taste, there's no doubt this guy has incredible songwriting ability-especially after 6 albums worth of material. If you're into really relaxed music or acoustic stuff then definitely check this record out.
