Being a fan of hardcore punk, crust and dbeat people alwats assume that I am in love with From Ashes Rise. Not to say that I don't like them but I honestly never listen to them and never saw what the fuss was about. This two song EP is the first new material since 2003. Also the first thing I have actually listened to in probably just as long.

This two song 7" has a very similar sound to what Behind Enemy Lines was doing with their last album. To me it feels less common than their other stuff. A little more of a distinct sound. Even though it is similar in style of Behind Enemy Lines they do it their way and their vocals are definitely different.

The first song "Rejoice the End" is quite possibly the greatest songs this band has ever put out. It has everything a crust band should have in a song. The riffs are great and the vocals are perfect and goes at a speed that suits it quite well. Unfortunately listening to the next song right after ruins the next song. It sets a standard so high that the song can't live up to the first one. I actually had to listen to it a couple times to truly appreciate the second song which in its own right is really great too. Just not as great.

Overall this 7" is great. They definitely did wonderful things on this record and I hope they continue releasing quality material like this in the future.
